MS Office For iPad (iOS) In The Works. Android May Wait Forever.

Update II: TheDaily's editors say that they did not fabricate the image of the app running on iPad and the story is real.

Update I: Doh! Microsoft's just thrown cold water on all our hopes by saying that the news is based on speculations. It's denied to comment further.

When it comes to tablets, iPad rules the markets and when it comes to office productivity suits, MS Office is still the king. What do you expect when the two join hands? The answer is 'awesomeness'! The Daily #-Link-Snipped-# that MS Office App for Apple's iOS has been developed and is currently getting ready for the approval from the Cupertino giant. The app looks quite like the OneNote app on iOS but gets a new Metro styling (a la Windows 8). The App allows creation of MS Word, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint files locally and online as well. It's not yet clear whether all other MS Office programs will be ported to iOS.

It's also being reported that Microsoft has not developed the Android version of the MS Office app yet and there are no immediate plans to develop it. The Redmond giant will soon release updated OneNote app for iOS. There is no mention of the possible launch date for the app; but the app will have to pass Apple's test to be available in the app store.

...and we're excited! Ever since owning an iPad; we haven't found a way to use iPad for some real, concrete work except for checking email & tweeting stuff. Office App for iPad will definitely make iPad more useful. What do you think?
