Mozilla seems to be in a hurry to release its new updates. Just yesterday it had ever so quietly #-Link-Snipped-# before the launch date scheduled for today. The Version 15 of Thunderbird was released along with the release notes on the Mozilla website. The new features added in this version include multi channel chat by which the user can have real time conversation with his/her contacts right from the application.

The new user interface replicates the style of Mozilla Firefox to provide a familiar feeling to the users. The âdo not trackâ option has also been implemented for web searches. The new version gives the option of using Ubuntu One cloud storage for large attachments. The new version has managed to fix security issues and has enhanced performance of the application. The only known issue with this version is that RSS feeds may not work sometimes in the Wide View Layout, but this problem can easily be solved by switching to Classic View or disabling the Lightning Calendar add-on and both of these require restarting the application. Mozilla has also requested the users to give feedback and report any issues to Bugzilla.
