Microsoft Surface 3 - The Thinnest Surface Yet At $499
Built to be slightly smaller than the Surface Pro 3, this tablet has a display size of 10.8â screen that comes with a 1920 x 1280 pixel resolution full HD display in a 3:2 aspect ratio. Not only does the screen offer clarity in multiple viewing angles, but is also made more useful with multitouch and a unique pen experience. Microsoft is bringing the same Surface Pen that was introduced with the Pro 3 with this tablet. Available in silver, blue, red and black color options, the Surface Pen features 256 levels of pressure sensitivity and the company has confirmed that it will be sold separately.
Coming back to the Surface 3 specifications, we have a Quad-core Intel Atom x7 processor running under the hood and the 64-bit Windows 8.1 OS running out of the box. Surface 3 will also include a free one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal, including full versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote as well as 1 TB of OneDrive storage. For the user's storage needs, Surface 3 comes with two memory options: 64GB storage with 2GB RAM and 128GB storage with 4GB RAM (priced at $599). On the gadget's rear end, you will find an 8 megapixel camera on the rear end and a 3.5 snapper on the front. Both cameras are capable of capturing 1080p videos.
The battery on the Surface 3 laptop is said to last up to 10 hours during video playback so that indicates that it might even run a full day on normal work. Coming to the ports - The Surface 3 sides are adorned with a full-size USB 3.0 port, a Mini Display port, a microSD card reader, a Micro USB charging port, a Headset jack and a Cover port. Last but not the least, we need to talk about the Surface 3 Type Cover, which when used turns the tablet into a laptop. Again available in various color options, the Surface 3 Type Cover can also be used as a Docking Station to instantly create a full desktop workstation, connecting easily to an HD monitor, a printer, an external mouse and keyboard, or any of a huge range of peripherals.
