Microsoft Announces Nokia 215: Features, Tech Specs and Price Detailed
Microsoftâs Mobile Devices department has unveiled a new entry-level internet connectivity enabled feature phone named Nokia 215. Yes, itâs now confirmed Microsoft is sticking with the Nokia name for its feature phones and its Windows Phone handsets will be self-titled. The Nokia 215 will be available in single and dual-SIM variants in bright green, white, and black colour variants. The phone also marks the return of the famous and much useful flash-light. Microsoft says that the Nokia 215 is perfectly suited for first time users and people who want a secondary phone as backup. It is evident from the fact that the Nokia 215 accepts micro SIM.
The Nokia 215 sports a 2.4inch LCD transmissive display with a QVGA (320 x 240) resolution. A special low power mode in the display helps you save on battery life. We are surprised to find that the Nokia 215 supports Glance Screen, a feature that is not available on many Lumia handsets. The Nokia 215 runs the Series 30+ operating system. On the rear, we find a 0.3MP fixed focus camera that is also capable of recording QVGA resolution AVI M-JPEG videos at 15 fps. While the internal memory of the Nokia 215 is a tiny 8 MB, the external memory can be expanded with the help of microSD cards of up to 32GB. The phone supports connectivity features like microUSB, Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM feature and EDGE.
The user-removable 3.7V 1100mAh battery is claimed to last for 29 days on standby and offer 20 hours of talk time. Microsoft has preloaded the phone with Opera Mini browser, Bing Search and MSN Weather app. The Nokia 215 will be launched in select markets of Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe in the first quarter of 2015 with a price tag of $29 or Rs. 1,840.
