McAfee And Guardian Analytics Publish Operation High Roller Report

In a combined effort by McAfee and Guardian Analytics, the security firms on Tuesday released the report on Operation High Roller which has been delving into the details of fraudulent transfer of money from major bank accounts across countries in Europe, Latin America and even the United States. Implementing on the existing Zeus and SpyEye malware families, a new wave of automated cyber attack has been managing to bypass the physical "chip and PIN" authentication and certain standardized security protocols to transfer funds from accounts of over 60 banks.

The malware is also known to employ JavaScript web-injection technology to generate additional entry fields while logging into one’s bank account. Once these details are retrieved by the attacker, money is transferred by extending a user’s session. Until now, researchers have concluded these attacks to have attempted $78 million worth fraudulent transfers. Read the detailed report #-Link-Snipped-#.
