The Indian tablet market expanded a bit more when #-Link-Snipped-# and #-Link-Snipped-# were launched recently. Now, MapmyIndia has added with a unique device to its lineup of navigational aids. It is the CarPad 5 - a GPS navigator which is also a 3G Tablet with calling facility. CarPad 5 comes equipped with Aura, which is MapmyIndia’s navigation interface that offers full 3D informative navigation. With its Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) OS this navigator tablet turns into an in-car entertainment device and being a tablet too, it is portable so you can carry it along wherever you go.

The 5 inch (12.7cm) capacitive TFT display has a resolution of 800*480 pixels. Under the hood it packs a 1 GHz Samsung Cortex A8 processor. It has all the navigational sensors like GPS, A-GPS, G-Sensor and E-Compass. In terms of connectivity, it supports 2G and 3G SIM, has Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi and for PC connectivity a mini USB port. The power supply to this device is  by 2000mAh battery. Although a microSD card of 4 GB containing MapmyIndia Maps preinstalled comes bundled with the device, the external memory can be expanded up to 32 GB. CarPad 5 is priced at Rs. 19,990 and can be bought online from the product website.
