The LYF Water 7 smartphone is part of the mid-range Water family of smartphones and comes with a price tag of Rs. 12,999. The LYF Water 7 is also the first smartphone in the LYF range that comes equipped with an ultra-fast fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor that is located just below the rear camera also has an additional functionality of launching your favourite app. You can assign five different fingers of your hand to launch different apps of your choice. The apps launch even if the smartphone is under lock which means you get faster access to your apps.
The LYF Water 7 has a slightly large 5.5inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution IPS panel LCD display that has a pixel density of 400ppi and is protected by Asahi Dragontrail glass. The screen supports 10 point multi-touch. Underneath the hood we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset that houses a 1.5GHz octa-core processor, Adreno 405 graphics and 2GB of RAM entrusted with the task of running Android 5.1 (Lollipop). The LYF Water 7 has an internal memory of 16GB and the option to expand that storage to up to 128GB with the help of microSD cards.
The LYF Water 7 has an impressive 13MP camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP sensor on the front. The rear camera has features like star track, light painting, HDR, electronic aperture, panorama, manual control over camera settings and the option of using the fingerprint sensor as the camera shutter. The smartphone is powered by a 3000mAh lithium-ion battery which is non-removable and it is claimed to provide 14 hours of talk time and up to 150 hours of standby.
Connectivity options include VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, microUSB and USB OTG. We find gravity, ambient light, proximity, gyroscope, hall, accelerometer and fingerprint sensor on the LYF Water 7 smartphone. The smartphone measures 155.3mm x 77.2mm x 8.55mm and weighs 160 grams.
