Lip Reading And Emotion Sensing On Kinect 2

We recently had the news of #-Link-Snipped-# coming to PCs and TVs and plans of launching #-Link-Snipped-# in 2013. Now we have more good news for Xbox and Kinect fans. Kinect 2, which is understood to be available bundled with the next-gen Xbox consoles, would be so accurate that it could even read lips, detect emotions of players like when players are angry or happy and even recognise the direction in which the players are facing.

A game development source also confirmed that emotions of players would be measured by tracking the facial expressions and pitch and volume of tone of the player's voices. The current version of Kinect is limited to certain uses and cannot be extended further because it is connected to the Xbox through the USB 2.0 technology which limits the sensor depth and the frame rate to 30 frames per second along with the resolution limit of just 320 x 240. But the new Kinect 2 won't be having such limitations and would be able to support higher resolutions as it could be cabled straight through various technologies for taking higher resolution data for processing by using the CCD (charged-coupled device) technology.

Xbox and Kinect has been reaching new highs since their launch, now with the introduction of these new technologies the Xbox experience is definitely going to new heights and not only for gamers, other developers could take these technologies to new level of interactivity in various other fields.
