LG's 5-inch 'Unbreakable OLED' & 55-inch OLED TV To Showcase At SID 2013

LG has always proven to be a leading innovator among displays. Promising as it is, LG Display is all set to sizzle the stage with the launch of its new 5-inch plastic OLED panel at the Society for Information Display's (SID) Display Week 2013 being held at Vancouver, Canada between May 19 to 24. It is for the first time that the audience will see this unbreakable and flexible OLED panel developed for mobile devices. Since the risk of dropping or hitting your smartphone is increasing by the day, thanks to our carelessness and the attitude of changing a handset every 12 months, the innovation in displays is indeed refreshing. Gone are the days when screens used to get scratches and phones with broken edges.

The SID 2013 show will also witness the introduction of two HD panels - 5-inch and 7-inch based on Oxide (next gen) TFT Technology, which promises to develop thin, highly transparent and low power consumption displays. Th 5-inch HD panel is going to have a 1.0mm bezel allowing for producing less-heating, lightweight and borderless smartphones. While the 7-inch HD LCD panel will feature a touch function-embedded technology so that users get to have a superior touch functionality.

In addition to this, the much-talked about 55-inch OLED TV, proudly called the World's Largest OLED TV By LG For CES 2012, which was unveiled at the CES 2012, LG OLED TV - The 55" Curved Screen's Pre-Orders Start Today In South Korea, will now find its place at SID 2013 too. LG loves claiming the 'World's First' title so much that it has many more things to offer. Adding to its long list of innovations is the World's First Ultra HD panel 23.8 inch monitors , a 14-inch Quadruple HD (2,560 x 1,440 resolution) panel for laptops, and the world's first 7-inch Full HD panel for tablets that exceeds 300 pixels per inch (PPI). Isn't it just amazing? The display-freaks around can just gather at the SID 2013 and give their eyes a well-deserved treat.

Turning the world's attention to itself, LG Display will also be presenting a new type of LCD which can depict the highest level of color reproduction ratio for implementation across various industries. The show is going to be one remarkable experience. At the event, Dr. In-Byung Kang, Senior Vice President and Lead Laboratory Chief of LG Display, will be recognized with a special achievement award for his work in FPR 3D and IPS LCD technology. There's going to be a lot of amazing stuff coming out of the box in the coming days. What do you wish for your screen? Share with us in comments.
