LG, the South Korean manufacturer, had got its tablet LG G Pad 8.3 under lot of anticipation and rumors. But without much adieu, ahead of the IFA 2013 Berlin launch, LG had revealed the LG G Pad tech specs and what it would look like. The 8.3-inch tablet sports a Full HD display with 1,920 x 1,200 resolution at 273 pixels per inch. Powering this tablet is a 1.7GHz, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor. With the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as the operating system for the device, LG is going to kick the butt of many a few android tablets in the market.
There's a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing device for video chat. As far as the storage is concerned, users get 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage. The LG G Pad 8.3 features a 4,600mAh battery and weighs just 338 grams. "Complementing our G Series smartphones, the introduction of the LG G Pad 8.3 further strengthens LG's premium lineup consisting of our most cutting-edge devices," Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Mobile, said in a statement. "Our G Pad is just another example of LG delivering devices with the unique selling points consumers around the world will appreciate."
There's a whole range of app that will come pre-loaded with the LG G PAD tablet. There's a QPair app that will allow users to check calls and messages received on a smartphone to show up on the LG Pad, from which users can also reply. The feature will work with non-LG smartphones, though a Jelly Bean-based gadget is recommended, LG said. Similarly, the QMemo app will also sync notes between devices. For multi-tasking, QSlide will allow for up to three apps to run at once; slide unneeded apps off to the side with a three-finger swipe. The KnockON feature turns the device on and off when the user taps the display twice. LG said the G Pad will come in black or white and roll out in North America, Europe, Asia, and elsewhere in the fourth quarter.
