Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 Launch In October Along With Windows 8, Tech Specs Out!

Rumors have been flying around that the next tablet from Lenovo feature Windows 8 is launching soon. Now this news has been officially confirmed by Lenovo in a press release. The tablet has been named as Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2, which will run Windows 8 Pro upon an Intel Atom processor. This slate has a 10.1 inch HD display and is only 9.8mm thick. The device supports both touch and pen input and has full size USB ports for attaching external devices. It features front 2MP and rear 8MP camera, noise cancelling microphones, HDMI port and supports wireless video streaming,  NFC radio, 3G-4G and wireless connectivity. An optional keyboard dock containing 3 USB ports, HDMI port and an Ethernet port will also be available.

The older version or 'Lenovo ThinkPad' had an ARM processor and used to run Android OS. For security purposes a fingerprint scanner is sold separately. Corporate users are granted access to monitor the applications being installed by their employees. Both the internal and external memory can be encrypted. This device will be available in October at the same time at which Windows 8 will be launched.
