    THE BASIC VOWELS ARE :

    あ a - pronounced as double a i.e. : 'aa'

    い i - pronounced as 'e' in english

    う u - pronounced as 'oo' in loo

    え e - pronounced as 'a' in english

    お o - its a normal 'o'


    Then comes the consonant series :

    Join the letters K, S, T, N, H, M, R to form the letters

    For eg:

    か -> ka (or kaa)
    き     -> ki (or ke)
    く -> ku (or koo)
    け -> ke (or kay)
    こ-> ko

    and so...on.

    Let me know if this is simple enough. So, that we can proceed further..
