Hi CEan. I also use spectacles and I have been thinking of LASIK surgery for the last two years. When I consulted one of the eye specialist, he suggested me to have the surgery ( if necessary ) only after 26 or 27 years of age. This is because, it will take some time for our eye number to be consisted.
If you want to know about its success, I think due to latest technologies the success rate of this surgery have been increased. Also for information, one of my friend had gone through the LASIK surgery before 5 year. The number of his eyesight was negative 5.00 and the surgery was successful. -

I also want to undergo this treatment, but I've heard many people say that the effects are often just temporary. In most cases that I've heard, people end up wearing spectacles (although with a lower number) after they've grown older.
P.S.: Would you do this surgery to get ride of spectacles for say 10 or 20 years, and later come back to spectacles again? What difference does it make? -

My teammate has undergone that surgery a one and half year ago.
Pros:
Dont have to use spectacles.
Can wear goggles.
Cons:
He has redness in his eye if he stares at the system for 3 hours (staring= working)
He has to use some eye drops now and then to keep his eyes cool.
If you have any specific questions let me know i will give you the information.
