JR Tokai's Maglev Train Prototype In Japan Will Zoom Past You At 310 MPH

JR Tokai, the Central Japan Railway Company has recently unveiled its all new maglev train prototype, which is set to run between Tokyo and Nagoya by 2027. Blistering at a high speed of 310 miles per hour, this maglev train will cover the distance of 160 miles in about 40 minutes, which is half of the travel time currently required. With the project cost investment of around $102 Billon, JR Tokai will extend that route up to Osaka by 2045. Though that looks like a lot of time, this floating magnetic levitation system will be the great technological leap for Japan’s existing high-speed rail system.

With promises of giving the riders not only a smooth ride but a quite quieter one, the plans of this project are going strong. The train is expected to carry one thousand commuters and has a 92-foot-long front car that will pull 15 passenger cars. We remember the #-Link-Snipped-#. But, till date the fastest a train has travelled is at 361mph. We love lightning fast speeds, don't you?
