Is Corruption in India Culture based?

Every sloka or puja ritual ends with a 'phala shruti' (assertion of the benefits that will accrue to the doer as a reward for doing it). We claim:'I have spent time chanting your 1000 names, 108 praises, chalisa or xyz, so you have to give me this, this, this'.
