Introduction To DC Generators

Watch this video to learn about the complete equation of generated EMF across the brushes. The lecture discusses the various forms of excitation, including the permanent magnet, separately excited and shunt methods. This lecture is conducted by Prof. L. Umanand of Power Electronics Group-IISc Bangalore. Discuss this topic with fellow electrical & electronics engineers, share your ideas, ask questions and doubts in this discussion.

    Hi

I would like to know whether you are able to interpolate from a DC motors performance curves, for predicting how it will perform as a generator? Whether there are any additional losses that are incurred?
I need to be able to predict the load torque vs RPM, as the engine driving the generator is extremely sensitive to the load torque. Help is much appreciated!

    thanks
