With the commercial launch of nation’s biggest 4G LTE network, Reliance Jio looming large, Intex Technologies (India) Ltd has launched a new entry-level Android Lollipop smartphone on the festive occasion of Makar Sankranti. The Intex Cloud 4G Smart has gone up for sale exclusively on Flipkart starting from today with an attractive price tag of Rs. 4,999. The name of this smartphone abundantly makes it clear that it provides 4G connectivity and being an entry level smartphone you might assume that it has Dual SIM feature but if you read the fine print you find that the Intex Cloud 4G Smart has a hybrid SIM-Slot allowing two LTE SIMs or one SIM and a microSD card simultaneously.

The spec sheet of the Intex Cloud 4G Smart begins on a dismal note with the display. While other similarly priced handsets from Micromax have an HD resolution display, the Intex Cloud 4G Smart has a 5-inch one with a FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution with a pixels per inch figure of 196 which is too low for a 5-inch display. Inside, we have a rather new but unheard of Spreadtrum SC9830 chipset that houses a rather unusual 1.5GHz quad core processor, Mali-400 GPU and 1GB of RAM taking care of running Android 5.1 (Lollipop). The internal memory as expected is at 8GB and you do get the option of expanding that storage to up to 32GB with a microSD card of your choice.

When it comes to the cameras on the Intex Cloud 4G Smart we have a LED flash equipped 5MP sensor on the rear and a 2MP sensor on the front. The smartphone is powered by a 2000mAh battery that promises standby time of up to 150 hours and up to 6 hours of talk time. Intex goes through the trouble of pre-loading a ton of apps that you might want to get rid of soon. Overall the Intex Cloud 4G Smart is a decent smartphone but if you desire impeccable performance with multi-tasking you might want to set your sights higher.
