Intel's Xeon Phi Chip 'Knights Corner' To Run For Exascale Computing By 2018
The next big thing in computing is going to be exascale computing or what we can call 100 times faster  computing performance than today's fastest computers. Taking a step in that direction, Intel announced its first Many Integrated Core (MIC) chip Xeon Phi with a code name 'Knights Corner' at the International Supercomputing Conference. The company wants to achieve the milestone of creating an exaflop computer by 2018.
Xeon server chip family will have a new member with the addition of Xeon Phi chips for processing of cloud-based and database applications. Supercomputers that have parallel processing capabilities are now able to perform complex scientific calculations and help in research related to math.  Take a look at the features in a glance -
