India's DRDO & Other Government Websites Hacked & Defaced

In an event of disgrace, some of India's key government websites, currently maintained by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), including Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) www.rac.gov.in & that of public Information, Infrastructure and Innovations - https://iii.gov.in were hacked by an Algerian group who call themselves the "SanFour25". After certain amount of suspicious activity was discovered at these sites, there was a temporary shutdown and then the sites were restored. What makes us sigh in relief is the assurance from the officials that there was no top-secret information leak and the shutdown lasted only a couple of hours.

Now, hacking key Government Websites is increasingly becoming a common in nations around the world. We read about it more often than we want to and we are worried. What is your stand? Share with us in comments.
