India To Set Up Six Nuclear Power Plants At Jaitapur, Maharashtra

Indian Government is going to set up six new nuclear power plants at Jaitapur in Maharashtra. Getting an approval on the same, V Narayanasamy, the Minister of State in PMO shared that they are collaborating with Areva, a French company that specializes in Light Water Reactors technology. India already has 20 nuclear reactors and 19 among them are fully operational. Pretty soon, work on the two units of 1,650 MW each is expected to begin. These project were delayed till now due to apprehension about the necessity of relocating the local people. But Narayanaswamy has assured that there will be no kind of resettlement of any person.
