IIT JAM entrance exam has following test papers:

Other important details are:

Other important details are:
- Each test paper in IIT JAM Entrance is of 3 hours duration.
- A candidate can opt to appear in either one or two test papers, subject to the limitations imposed by the Test schedule.
- Biotechnology and Computer Applications test papers are objective type.
- All other six test papers will be objective-cum-subjective type.
- IIT JAM paper has negative marking for wrong answers to the objective type questions in all the test papers.
- For each test paper in exam, an All India merit list is prepared.
