HTC Introducing New Models Next Year - New Plan To Increase Revenues

HTC is said to be one of the worst performers in smart phone market. It has seen a fall of 30 percent in the last eight sessions alone. So HTC is forced to show some innovation. So the HTC CFO Winston Yung said that they will be launching new and more competitive models in 2012. They are confident about “the worldwide flagship products” they plan to launch and the sales they are sure to bring along.

HTC is making use of the Barcelona Mobile Conference happening in February 2012 for the launch. But they are open that they have no new strategy yet. They are just releasing more models. All this happened after the fourth-quarter guidance cut last Wednesday, when the company showed a sudden and surprise cut of its revenue forecast for the 4th quarter to no growth, making the investors worried. The stocks also took a hit.  At 0251 GMT, they were down 2.35 per cent at T$478. But Mr. Yung maintained that the situation was not so serious and that it was in no way in the same state that NOKIA was, when the company, all of a sudden lost its dominance in the market.

Masterlink Investment Advisory vice president Tom Tang commented on the scenario and said The Company was being treated as a company “with not many bets in its hand”. But the last time people were frantic to sell their shares, the company gave them the option of “Share buy back” but this time that wasn’t there. HTC has so much on its plate right now. The stiff competition from Apple iPhone series and Samsung’s Galaxy range and also some legal problems like the patent problems it is having now. Will the new range, HTC plans to launch, help increase the revenue for the company? One has to wait and see.
