HP VoiceTab Slate 6 And Slate 7 Announced - Phablets Just Got Bigger

HP VoiceTab Slate 6 and VoiceTab Slate 7 are now officially introduced. Hewlett-Packard has announce that these voice tablets will be launched in India next month. Running on Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean OS, the Slate 6 and Slate 7 are huge smartphones cum tablets with features that encompass entertainment as well as productivity. The HP Slate 6 features a 6-inch 720p HD IPS display and the Slate 7 sports a 7-inch 1280 x 800 LCD IPS display. Both the phablets support cellular radios for voice calling and feature front-facing stereo speakers. They both also feature a 2-megapixel user-facing camera and 5-megapixel main camera on the rear end with flash and 720p HD video capture.

On the memory front, HP Slate 6 and 7 pack 16 GB of built-in storage and support microSD cards up to 32 GB for additional storage expansion and are also equipped with dual SIM card slots, with support for 3G networks. "Consumers are looking to consolidate their phones and tablets, which is propelling the voice tablet market," said Ron Coughlin, senior vice-president, Consumer Personal Systems Group, HP. The phone cum tablet hybrids are fast getting in the popular option category and are steadily gaining ground in India and International market. Use of the smartphones is no more limited to just making calls. The general mind-set is - if it can't let you watch video or surf the web, it's not worth putting money in.
