Honda Smart Ecological Paint To Color Your Cars & Bikes Faster

Honda's engineers have developed a smart ecological paint with an aim to shorten the overall vehicle colouring process. The technology removes the middle coating process which was required in the traditional 4-coat/3-bake auto body painting process. The technology will be introduced in Honda's Yorii Plant at Saitama Factory in Japan. The new plant will use 3-coat/2-bake water-based painting process.

Removing the middle coating process usually puts a restriction on the overall choice of colours. Honda addressed this issue by developing a new high-function material to be used in the base coat which now makes it possible to use any color typically used for auto-paints.
