HIDS Or NIDS?

i have question
i search it but i couldn't find it .
i have a project about computer network.so i decide to design an ids
i have about 2 or 3 month for doing it .
i want to know can i do it in this time ?
and which one is easier HIDS or NIDS ?
i know c,c++,c#,python,java languages
and i usually good at programing.
