HCL Wins UIDAI "Aaadhar" Infrastructure Management Project

HCL Infosystems has won the project to manage the infrastructure which will maintain the records of 1.2 billion Indians. The contract was delayed for over 12 months, but finally HCL managed to bag the project for Rs. 2200 crore. The project is one of the largest and one of its kind anywhere in the world. HCL rivalled TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Tech M and others for the contact. Under the contract, HCL Infosystems Limited will be the 'Managed Service Provider' (MSP) for the UIDAI "Aadhar" project for a period of 7 years and it will be responsible for implementation and end-to-end management of Central ID Repository.

UIDAI is Governmnet Of India's very ambitious project that aims to allot a unique identity number of all the citizens of India.
