Graphene Paper Is 10 Times Stronger Than Steel

Graphene Paper developed by University of Technology, Sydney has potential to revolutionize the aviation, automobile and electrical industries. The researchers have succeeded in developing a graphite based composite material that is 10 times stronger than steel. What's astonishing about this material is that it's as thin as your regular paper. Professor Guoxiu Wang is leading the research on this topic.

Graphene Paper

The material is composed of graphene nanosheet stacks of monolayer hexagonal carbon lattices arranged in a special way which result into special electrical, thermal and mechanical properties. The Graphene Paper is 6 times lighter than the steel - an important aspect that may be remarkably useful in the aviation industry.
