Google Ears Ports From Jelly Bean To ICS

Soundhound and Shazam now face direct competition from Google's new feature for Sound Search titled "Google Ears." Originally a function of Jelly Bean, this fancy new feature was announced at the Google IO announcements, but until now was out of reach for most.  Thank 'asdfzz' at XDA forums, for the xda-developers member has successfully ported the feature from Jelly Bean to ICS by snagging the .APK file.

Google Ears is a Sound Search Engine which listens to a particular audio and analyzes it to deliver quick results to the user,  detailing the artist, album and a direct link to the Google Play Store so you can buy it. Early reports rate it higher than Shazam and upto the performance level of Soundhound. On the downside, the app does not keep track of any previous tags or history.

The feature was only available for rooted devices at first but the latest APK works fine on non-rooted devices as well. Google Ears can be used on all ICS devices and ROMs, by using #-Link-Snipped-#. You can click on the download link #-Link-Snipped-# to get the APK file, transfer it to your phone and open it to install "Google Ears" on your ICS phone.
