    Gionee’s new premium elite smartphone, M2017 has been launched exclusively in China for now, at an impressive sum of CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs. 68,400). Another version with an Italian custom alligator leather back panel costs CNY 16,999 (approx. Rs. 1,66,000). Packed with many USPs, it features a massive 7000 mAh battery (two 3500 mAh batteries inside) with support for Quick Charge 3.0.

    The smartphone thus is touted to provide a video playback time of up to 26 hours and a standby time of 915 hours. The dual-SIM supported device flaunts a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) Amoled display with curved edges, sapphire glass, and an impressive 518 ppi pixel density. Powered by an 1.9 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC it is paired with 6 GB of RAM. In-built storage comprises of 128 GB, but there is no provision for a microSD card slot to expand the internal memory.

    Gionee M2017 further runs Amigo 3.5 UI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone also features a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button with connectivity options like 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and USB Type-C port. The phone for all its sterling features doesn’t come with a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

    On photography front it houses a dual-camera setup (12-megapixel + 13-megapixel) at the rear end, with support for 2X optical zoom and 8X digital zoom, and an 8-megapixel snapper at the front for clicking selfies. Gionee M2017 will be available in Black and Gold variants and would be up for pre-orders in China.
