Frankenstein Virus, created by Vishwath Mohan and Kevin Hamlen (University of Texas at Dallas), creates a malware from available software in the system it infects. The name 'Frankenstein' comes from the ability of malware to be designed by combining pieces of data (gadgets) from different software. The virus is programmed to select gadgets which are capable of performing desired functions and combines each of them to form a very malicious software that infects the system.

This malware is formed by the parts of software such as Notepad, Internet Explorer etc. in your system making it extremely difficult for any anti virus to detect a suspicious behavior. Also, the virus is designed on a broad blueprint, so it does not search for the same code in every system; rather it looks for a data stream that performs a desired function. Hence, for a same function the gadget can be obtained from different software in different systems, giving a whole new look to the malware and making the detection truly difficult. The virus is expected to be useful for national security agencies, but what if it spills out of the safe hands? We leave the speculations to you.
