Flipkart App For Windows Phone Is Now Available

For all shopaholics, here’s a piece of good news for you. India's biggest online retailer Flipkart has finally launched its app on Windows phone platform in India. Last year in November, the online retailer introduced its native app for iPhone and Android users providing ease of access to millions of users and now it aims to target Windows phone users. The app provides all product categories ranging from laptops, cameras, mobiles to books and home appliances. This new app has a refreshing new design and a slight change in the overall layout.

Let’s take a look at the highlights of this app: it offers easy navigation through different departments to search for the desired product and supports Sort and Filter functions to pin down the search results. Further, it also allows a buyer to read reviews written by other users, view recently browsed products along with their details and offers him to zoom-in on the image to get a closer view of the product. Once a user places an order, he/she can track the status of order at various points of time. Payment options include cash on delivery, credit/debit Cards, EMI, NetBanking, Flipkart Wallet and Flipkart e-gift vouchers. The app will work on Windows Phone 7.5 and above.

To attract the customers, the company is running a special launch discount offer of Rs.100 for purchases worth Rs.1,500 and above made on the first three days starting from today and this offer is valid till April 11. What are your views on this app? Share your views with us in comments.

Is it just me or the Windows Phone app of Flipkart look clutter-free as compared to its Android app? If any Windows Phone users are out there, can you install and use the app and upload a short review of the same on the CE forum.
