The Department of Telecomm, (DOT), has blocked the following websites from Access in INDIA due to piracy issues.

01. Megaupload.com
02. Mediafire.com
03. Megavideo.com
04. VideoBB.com
05. Novamov.com
06. Movshare.net
07. Rapidshare.com
08. Putlocker.com
09. Hotfile.com
10. Fileserve.com
11. Filesonic.com
12. Filesonic.in
13. Depositfiles.com
14. Wupload.com

Etc., will Also Get Banned Soon..

Also ALL PORN Sites Will Get Banned.

This has been done due to new policies passed, ofcource done due to the force of the BIG MONEY coming from Bollywood and other Cinemas.

Another warning Torrents are next to be banned. 😔

If you are talking about Personal Experience, Then it may be wrong.
I also face such problem when i am new to internet i also think so. But after some modification it worked fine. I suggest you remove your cookies & also change your Internet provider!
My advice->Don't think such things until you read such information from reputated magazine or official website.

None of them seemed to be banned. Are you sure about this? I can visit each and every site you have mentioned here.

no problem. Its India, policies will be made and broken as if they are cookies. I hope they dont do this though. They cant stop piracy simple by blocking these sites. Just because some terrorists may use mobile phone to co-ordinate attacks doesnt mean we ban all mobile phone networks! Dont know when these politicians will grow up! They really need to get educated.

Yeah, in my view this is stupid to block these major sites. At any point of time T, for N sites blocked, there exists N+M sites!!! 😁 These Indian Govt people don't understand this simple logic! 😁

Damn.. These bills get passed so easily with no hassels whatsoever, ask them to pass an anti corruption bill and then they think over it for weeks,months,years..

Hey, that's because of the file not available for download. But the site is available!!! For some of them, the site itself was blocked. Saying, it was blocked by DOT!!!

Yeah, you are right. The file is unavailable.
I am able to visit the site.
