Auto giant Fiat has unveiled not one, but three new car models at Auto Expo 2014 at New Delhi. These three new models are- Avventura, Abarth 500 and a new version of Linea. Of these cars Avventura, a multipurpose concept vehicle, has now made a global debut in India. Abarth 500, a subcompact hatchback has been in global markets a while and now will be seen on Indian roads. Also, Fiat launched an improved version of its sedan Linea. Indian customers will have to wait for this model till March. Fiat's new cars will be assembled at it's Ranjangaon facility near Pune, Maharashtra.

The Abarth 500 is expected with a turbo engine having a capacity of 1.4L and producing 137 bhp. Dampers and stiffer springs are also expected to provide a more sporty handling handling experience in the Abarth 500.

Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (Indian operations) said that the introduction of these models in will strengthen Fiat's position to penetrate further in Indian market. However, Fiat made it a point not to disclose the price range of these vehicles. Experts project that the company will release a new model later in this year.

Fiat currently is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and has 90 dealerships operating across the country, a number which Fiat plans to turn 100 before 2015. Fiat has certainly turned heads with these launches and it will be interesting to keep tabs on its performance amidst a global automobile market lull.
