Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT KGP invites colleges to host EADs in their cities

E-Cell IIT Kharagpur, each year, takes a massive initiative to promote entrepreneurship and encourage students across the country to embrace the concept of starting one's own enterprise. It conducts an Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive in cities across the country, in reputed colleges in each city, during the month of October. Each Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp(EAC) consists of an eminent and successful entrepreneur speaking about their entrepreneurial experiences and the joys and hardships of their journey to success. The imprints that this initiative will leave will definitely inspire more and more nascent minds to take the path of entrepreneurship, the path less travelled by.

ECell IIT Kharagpur is looking for colleges in various cities across the country where EAD 2010 would be taking place. The cities in which EAD 2010 would be conducted are Kharagpur, Jamshedpur, Patna, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Indore, Pune, Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, Chennai, Vellore, Trichy, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Gwalior, Dehradun, Baroda, Raipur, Mumbai, Ranchi, and Bhopal. EAD 2010 would take place between Oct. 12th and Oct. 25th.

Requirements for the college:

• The college should have an auditorium with a minimum capacity of 250 people, equipped with proper audio-visual facilities.

• The college should ensure partipation in the EAC from their college, as well as from other colleges in the city, using their network.

• The college should carry out the necessary publicity measures, including sticking up posters in colleges and management institutions in the city.

• The college should arrange for a press conference during the EAC.

Benefits to the college:

• The college would be associated with the premier institute of India and also build a network here.

• The EAC would be presented as "ECell IIT Kharagpur and [college name] present"

• The posters, web banners, print media banners, event banners would have the logo of all the colleges.

• The logo of all the colleges would appear on the ECell website.

• The college would get a chance to be the venue for a lecture by an eminent entrepreneur (arranged by ECell IIT Kharagpur) in the respective cities. It would be part of a massive initiative, the only one of its kind in India, to promote entrepreneurship across the country.

• The college will be provided all help if it goes on to setup an Entrepreneurship Cell in their college.

• All the local articles that get published would have a mention of the respective college, increasing their branding and publicity in the city.

EAD 2009

EAD 2009 took place in 10 cities in 10 days. From the Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2008 to the Founder and President of Association of Lady Entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh, EAD 2009 promised the most varied set of entrepreneurial gurus. Times Private Treaties, The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and Morpheus Venture Partners joined hands with E-Cell in its endeavour of unleashing the entrepreneur in everyone. It was highly publicized in local and national media alike.
