Project Abstract / Summary : ABSTRACT:
Elite Portal is a Mobile Application It is a Application for a Institution or a University to help student to get information and resources from his own mobile. This Application is developed mainly for the students to get all the Information like Periodical results, Video tutorials, Subject notes, Suggestion posting and Placement resources.
This Application will help the students to get all the information right away from his mobile phone and Stay connected with all Academic Stuffs. The Application can be used only by the students of the respective educational institution with his login credentials.
HIGH LEVEL DESIGN SPECIFICATION:
The Project contains the following modules:
• Login
• Class notes
• Resources
• Results
• Attendance
• Library
• Exam Cell
LOGIN:
This Module allow the user to register himself. The registered user can sign in to their account to get the information as per his wish.
RESOURCES:
This Module will help the students to get there Placement details, Project ideas, Software related to their department. This module give all the facility for the students for project creation, Mainly for campus because this module give the placement related resources.
CLASS NOTES:
In this module student can get there class notes by simply downloading. The module will ask the year, dept to show the related subject notes then the students will get the searched notes.
RESULTS:
This module show the periodical results. It show all the results as per the year and semester. It ask the year and semester to show the results. The students can also get their previous year results also.
ATTENDANCE:
This module shows the students attendance to check their presence in the college if the lecturer forgetted to put the attendance for 1 day or some periods the student will ask their lecturer to update.
LIBRARY:
This module show all the library books students can simply sign into this application and search the book name and download the searched book. All type book will be available for students facility.
QUESTION BANK:
This module can give all set of questions and Frequently asked questions. The user can easily get the questions to prepare for their University exams without separate search of questions.
Exam Cell:
This module will direct the students to find their Exam hall during the University examination. Usually Students go see their respective Exam Hall in the notification board in the rush time and crowd makes times to find the Hall. In this module the respective Hall details is send to the students at the time of examination. The Students should not get any tensed moments before the exam they will fell free to find the exam hall.
Proposed System:
The Proposed System will work by the student unique identity number by his/her identity number the system will show the information to sign up. After the sign up the students will login in for every use and get clear information from the institution database. The students which belongs to the institution have the rights to access he application
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
• User-defined exceptions must be generated
The following are the sample scenarios where user-defined exceptions required. Identify the other mandatory requirements and implement them.
a. Entering Invalid user id.
b. Entering Invalid user name and password etc.
BEST PRACTICES:
The development team must follow the best practices
1. Coding standard
• Methods and class name must be meaningful
• Meaningful names for variables
• Proper names for android layout xml files.
• Meaningful names for controls
2.Validation for all the fields
• Missing of Mandatory fields entry
• Entering numbers for name field etc
• Layout design and arrangement of the controls must be proper in UI design
• Title message for each dialog and screen must be meaningful.
Conclusion:
The main aim of this project students easily to get there information from their third hand(mobile phones), Their class notes, results and placement related tutorials are provided in this application, for final year students those are preparing for the campus interview this application will guide what things should learn and periodical interview questions, subject related queries also included.
Why did you choose to work on this project topic : Usually, we will be getting circulars if the management needs to send information to staffs and students. And for other co-curricular activities related information, we need to go and check in the College office. And it is usual that we miss to get those news at right time. Also it’s a really a struggle to stand in the queue and pay the fees in the break time and also sometimes we lead to miss out the class just for making payment. So I thought to create a project for the student’s convenience and also to make them stay notified with the college / university updates. This is the useful project for Students, Staffs (getting right information at right time) and also for Management (to circulate information easily and quickly). Simply saying, it creates a environment to share / gather information efficiently. Now a days, everyone is having mobile phones especially Android smart phones are popular. So it will be easy, if students / staffs get news / information in their hands. Online fees payment is the additional advantage of this project which makes the life easier for the students. And unique identification method used in this project using Aadhaar number of the user which makes the added security for the project.
Project Highlights : 1. This is useful project for Students, Staffs (getting right information at right time) and also for Management, it creates environment to share / gather information efficiently.
2. Security ensured for the users using Aadhar number inclusion on registration.
3. Android mobile users get all the information handy.
4. Online fees payment is the additional advantage of this project which makes the life easier for the students.
5. Users can download any Notes, Syllabus easily and quickly.
6. Video tutorials are provided which enhances the knowledge of the students.
7. Students can check their attendance even easily, where it was a pain in the previous days.
