    Re: confused

Electronics: The study of components and circuits used to construct items such as audio amplifiers, radio transmitters and computer circuits. Students learn about elementary electrical components, transistors, integrated circuits, computer circuitry and power electronics. The field specialises in areas such as microwave electronics, superconducting electronics, ultra-high speed electronics and the prevention of electromagnetic interference between devices.

Mechatronics: Mechatronic engineering is a new focus area in engineering that promises to become even more important in the future, both in South Africa as well as internationally. With automation as the current key to productivity, the need for mechatronics (which makes it possible to generate simpler, more economical, reliable and versatile systems) increases by the day.

Mechatronic engineering is a synergistic combination of precision mechanical engineering, electronics and computer systems. A typical mechatronic system is characterised by close integration of the mechanical components, electronic sensors, mechanical and electrical actuators and computer controllers. Mechatronic engineering is an interdisciplinary engineering field that serves the purpose of controlling advanced hybrid systems. These systems are found in numerous industry sectors where mechanical and electronic engineering are interfaced with computer systems, such as aerospace, automotive, chemical processing, computers, communications, electronics, healthcare, manufacturing and mining.

Automobile: Automobile engineering or automotive engineering is the branch of engineering which deals with the study as how to design, manufacture and operate automobiles like buses, trucks, cars etc. and also their respective engineering subsystems. This can also be a grouped under vehicle engineering.

An automobile engineer’s main duty is to design, test and develop vehicles and/or components from concept stage through to production stage. The vehicle after being launched in the market also needs improvement. Then it comes to the duty of the automobile engineer to improve the vehicle in response to customers feedback.

I would advice you to go through various courses and then select what you think you like. It is the question of personal choice.

Also ask your friends and relatives in these fields. 😀

First of please be clear that in which field you are really interested. and go with that field only. This is my Suggestion.

I agree with above advises - simply go with the discipline of your interest. Why are you confused, by the way?

    Re: confused

i love aerodynamics, and want to do masters in that field.
but the college in which i am studin (manipal institute of technology) is not certified with aicte for BE-AUTOMOBILE, but the faculty say it will be done by next year.
how much does the college matter for further studies.

And i also have a great interest in robotics and automation.

and about electrical its a core branch.

If you are interested in Robotics then Mechatronics can help you. 😀
