Directional Antenna For Mobile Towers Application

Project Abstract / Summary : ABSTRACT
  • As 4G wireless networks are vastly and rapidly deployed worldwide, 5G with its advanced vision of all connected world and zero distance communications is already at the corner.
  • Along with the super quality of user experience brought by these new networks, the shockingly increasing energy consumption of wireless networks has become a worrying economic issue for operators and a big challenge for sustainable development.
  • Transmission Technologies (GTT) is a project focusing on the energy-efficient design of physical-layer transmission technologies and MAC-layer radio resource management in wireless networks.
  • In this article, four selected GTT solutions are introduced, focusing on how they utilize the degrees of freedom in different resource domains, as well as how they balance the tradeoff between energy and spectrum efficiency.
  • On top of the elaboration of separated solutions, the GTT toolbox is introduced as a systematic tool and unified simulation platform to integrate the proposed GTT solutions together.
  • Green radio technology prefers environment friendly approach towards the mobile communication.
  • The project developed for modification in mobile infrastructure for energy conservation and CO2 reduction(carbon credit).
  • The mobile towers are increasing in an extraordinary manner. The source for towers are based on the power requirement. Power requirement in developing countries are always greater than the generated.
  • A critical mobile network consume ~40-50MW and a diesel generator consume ~1MG of diesel per day.
  • Our objective is to reduce the energy consumption in base stations.
OBJECTIVE
  • Energy efficient mobile infrastructure
  • Power saving
  • CO2 reduction-Reduce the global warming effect
  • Successful operation of large scale mobile communication services.

EXISTING SYSTEM
  • In INDIA more than 5 lacks towers are present. Till 2014,1lacks towers will be increased.
  • Also Tamilnadu Govt., going to Stop the launching new Mobile Towers in Tamilnadu
  • Towers will be always ON. The power consumption increased so that carbon emission also increased
  • One tower delivers 85kg of carbon/ day
  • During night time for the10% of users 100% towers are kept on. This leads to inefficient mobile towers.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
  • Energy saving is one of the key subjects for mobile operators because the base station accounts for most of the energy consumption by mobile operators.
  • Our government is loosing Rupees19.65/- per liter sale of diesel. The same cost is applicable for mobile tower
  • Directly and indirectly mobile operators are creating huge lose to the society by wasting power.
  • Power consumption is reduced by adapting the provided network capacity to the actual demand at a given time.
  • We have to set towers based on the peak and off peak hours. When off-peak hours the most of the towers in sleeping mode. So that energy consumptions is takes places.
  • Operating energy is reduced so that the carbon emission also reduced considerably.
SIMULATION RESULTS
VISUAL BASIC:
  • Visual Basic is Easy to learn Programming language with Visual Basic you can develop Windows based applications and games Visual Basic is much easier to learn than other language (like Visual C++),and yet it's powerful programming language.
ADVANTAGE
  • It's simple language. Things that may be difficult to program with other language can be done in Visual Basic very easily.
  • Because Visual Basic is so popular, There are many good resources (Books,Web sites, News groups and more) that can help you learn the language.
CONCLUSION
  • Our project proposes a comprehensive approach towards an energy efficient operation of next generation mobile communication
  • Green Radio includes efficient hardware and software platforms and careful integration into self organizing network functions
  • This technology is a key factor for operation expenditure reduction and endures an eco friendly
FUTURE WORK
  • Renewable sources such as solar power and wind power may be available where cell sites are placed. Hence, Base station will get adequate power from either wind power and solar power generator. So we can operate Base station independent of the electric power.
  • Because of power getting from either wind and solar generator, Base station is always working condition even electric power goes off.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : In current scenario the number of mobile users are increasing so the energy consumption is also increasing. In our project we implementing green transmission using Directional Antenna because it has more advantages comparing to omni directional antenna it reduces interferences and power consumption by using responder frequency to active tower of respective antenna only when there is a presence of users.
