What is this Desiccant Silica Gel? We find small packets of it in most of the electronics that we buy . What role does they play here ?

    The name completely describes it. It is silica (SiO2) in gel form. It is a desiccant as it can absorb large amounts of ware vapour. Keeps hardware dry. By drying the packets in an oven at 110C it can be reused many times.
