As they say better late than never! When all the tech giants are gearing up their armours for tablet war, Dell finally woke up to launch a tablet by the end of 2012. A company source told #-Link-Snipped-# that 2012 will mark their entry into this rapidly increasing market.

It is not Dell’s first step in the pool, they tried to capture the market earlier with “Dell Streak”. Unfortunately users didn’t like and it was overshadowed by mighty Apple and other competitors like HP, RIM etc. Steve Fellice, chief commercial officer, said in an interview, "We have been taking our time. You will see us enter this market in a bigger way toward the end of the year. So we are not really deemphasizing it, we are really being very careful how we enter it."

He also said that tablet is not just about hardware, people are interested in overall environment. According to him Dell has learned from past mistakes and they are more mature this time. He also pointed out “general failure of everyone in tablet market outside Apple”.
Steve Fellice didn’t comment on which OS will power the new tablet? With Windows 8 coming in market, Dell has now two options – either to go with Google’s Android or Microsoft’s Windows. It is worth noticing that Streak  running Android. Steve said that they will continue develop Android along with Windows 8, but they are going to be more choice driven, based on the customer feedback. Looks like Dell is completely prepared this time. Apart from Kindle Fire, no tablet has been able to stand up against Apple iPad till now. Lets see what Dell has to show!
