Why dont you do a search on forum..? I remember a similar thread here regarding wifi. There might be enough information, I guess.

I wifi range is limited to only one end of the room.
are you talking abot collecting or re-transmitting??

Every WIFI network has a SSID , Many WIFI networks are have WPA encryption or higher level of encryption which needs key exchanges while establishing a connection. When a client enters any of the WIFI servicable areas, appropriate user name and password has to be put in to login.
then on all the computers in a given network share a common channel using any of the multiple channel access technologies.

You can add a wireless repeater at the periphery of the existing wireless coverage, and have it transmit to other places void of it 😀

like ash said, use a wireless repeater to enhance the signal strength and coverage.
banning of websites is common everywhere, u can always use a web proxy to access the sites u want. but doing so would be violating the rules and therefore its ur own responsibility if u do so 😛.

It is very impossible for us to collect RF waves in one device and utilize it whenever and wherever we want to. One possible reason why you cannot receive wifi signal on the other side of the room is because the signal might be attenuated by the concrete wall or thick wall of your room and also that part of the room is not inside the coverage area of the provider. Yes, you can use wireless repeater to amplify the signal.
