    Do you have more information regarding how these tensegrity structures are implemented in the real world, because I didn't find any such reference on the internet. Mostly theoretical material is available, but there is no data on whether this technology has been applied anywhere in the world (for eg. any particular dome etc.).

    Further, I didn't understand the use of the tensegrity tower shown in the figure. What is it for?

    tensegrity structures are made use in places where it is not possible to hammer or hold it in ground. you can use them in various applications. they can be used like any other towers for any purposes like transmission or anything. it had a stiffer structure which will enable it to stand stiff without any support even when the wind or other forces are great.

    for the example you've asked. I've just written a post on the application of this concept to a dome called Georgia dome in USA.
