Hello fellow engineers
well im actually undertaking what is called in australia a tafe qualification
(trade school) and for whatever reason they saw fit to send us to find ourselves some Industry Research Projects, I am quite happy and excited about the prospects, but unfortunately, they gave no hints of how to aproach this. So i was hoping i could gain some kind of insight into how to ask, and even just aproach an industry to say, in more interesting terms, "hey mate, need something sorted? i here can help sir please let me do something Im dying!" anyhow,
I kind of needed some kind of guidance

"Water Jet Cutting" will be a good seminar topic...

its a recent technology developing since last 3 decades...

In this technology one can cut any material with the help of water jet!!!😲
Even corrundum can be cut with this technique. corrundom is the 2nd hardest material to cut after diamond.

I have always felt, I Instead of computer engineer I would have been a mechanical engineer, I would have developed an engine or something related to ultra smooth shockabsorbers mechanics.

how about a ultra sensitive shock absorber connected to a bit harder shockabsorber and than finally to the body of the vehicle...will that be even better...for smooth ness of the vehicle ?? I wish i could make one such...

there are such shock absorber which are very sensitive but they are under study now. working of M.R. Break and M.R. Absorber is same

well dude for a project in mechatronics try making a wireless remote controlled car with some changes in the basic steering and acceleration.. instead of using 4 motors try using two with some power transmission devices like bevel gears added to the axle plus a rack and pinion for steering.. there are limitations i'm facing on this so i think we can speak bout it.. u can contact me on 9730983877.. i'm a second year mechanical student

I'm using tinyOS Network Simulator (TOSSIM). The language for programming of motes is C++,nesC & python. First, the tossim has to be configured properly, then we can compile & run the programs in C++ or python. TOSSIM has a gui called tinyviz, where the network structure is displayed.

Paddle Rickshaw - Innovation appear suitable for affected Indian population !

1. End user : Easy to use
2. Service mechanics : easy to repair
3. Rickshaw Owner – Economical to own a Pack of Rickshaw
4. Environment friendly – No risk of leaks, disposal like in case of Lead Acid Batteries, no subsidy on purchase of “poisonous lead acid battery”.
5. Electrical Energy independent – Not requiring any Electricity / chargers / points and subsidy on scarcely available electricity (first it must be given to Farmers)

Since it is low power requirement like 75-100 watts / km; this kind of energy can be stored easily in “mechanically simple” device called Flywheel.

And this device flywheel can be “charged” at rickshaw driver at leisure pace while waiting for the customers or when he is rolling freely on down slope.

Currently flywheels designs are lightweight (like fibre glass material) which is very long life, “burst resist at operational rpm”, repairable in every town and incase the device is not working it can easily be dismounted at mechanic shop; not very costly to own and would not be stolen.

Gray Areas for development on such Energy storage Flywheel –
- Design in terms of Material, Weight, size, range of RPM of flywheel
- Cost effective bearings
- Device like pulleys / shaft for “power take-off” and “charging”
- Added lever / controls at driver
- Display to indicate “level of Charge”
Time required –
- About 6 months - for first prototypes – 10-20 nos
- About 3 months for “Actual user rickshaw drivers feed-back”
- About 1 months - New / final design of “Energy storage flywheel” and related systems
- About 2 months for Pilot lot of “kits for rickshaws” – 100-200 nos

Paddle Rickshaw - Innovation appear suitable for affected Indian population !

1. End user : Easy to use
2. Service mechanics : easy to repair
3. Rickshaw Owner – Economical to own a Pack of Rickshaw
4. Environment friendly – No risk of leaks, disposal like in case of Lead Acid Batteries, no subsidy on purchase of “poisonous lead acid battery”.
5. Electrical Energy independent – Not requiring any Electricity / chargers / points and subsidy on scarcely available electricity (first it must be given to Farmers)

Since it is low power requirement like 75-100 watts / km; this kind of energy can be stored easily in “mechanically simple” device called Flywheel.

And this device flywheel can be “charged” at rickshaw driver at leisure pace while waiting for the customers or when he is rolling freely on down slope.

Currently flywheels designs are lightweight (like fibre glass material) which is very long life, “burst resist at operational rpm”, repairable in every town and incase the device is not working it can easily be dismounted at mechanic shop; not very costly to own and would not be stolen.

Gray Areas for development on such Energy storage Flywheel –
- Design in terms of Material, Weight, size, range of RPM of flywheel
- Cost effective bearings
- Device like pulleys / shaft for “power take-off” and “charging”
- Added lever / controls at driver
- Display to indicate “level of Charge”
Time required –
- About 6 months - for first prototypes – 10-20 nos
- About 3 months for “Actual user rickshaw drivers feed-back”
- About 1 months - New / final design of “Energy storage flywheel” and related systems
- About 2 months for Pilot lot of “kits for rickshaws” – 100-200 nos
