I don't think you'll get Bangalore/Hyderabad but yes, you might get Noida for DESD in last rounds. This info is on the basis of July 2012 C-CAT results.aitscan any one help me with cdac centres my ranks are:

Oh not at all waited to give exam. I am presently doing course in VLSI at Bangalore. Kindly don't give blind guesses!! Iam sure anyone who has even small information about C-DAC centres will know the fact that Hyderabad is IMPOSSIBLE at 580 for DESD!! ohk..great Prototype! Ok..I wish I get Hyderabad atleast. But in July 2012, person with 314 in DESD got Pune in 2nd round only...this clearly indicates that my chances are good enough for hyderabad ATLEAST. And I can for sure get Bangalore..what do you say? As you are also quite experienced.[Prototype]Oh not at all waited to give exam. I am presently doing course in VLSI at Bangalore. Just given the exam for backup after this course is done.😁
Oh well, there seem to be some chances for Hyderabad though I am not sure about Pune. Keep Bangalore open as well as I've heard its also good for ES.

With the centers of your choice, getting allotment in first round seems to be difficult, but its totally possible as there are other courses as well.sksaxenaohk..great Prototype! Thanks for help! I didn't understand what you said at last regarding C-DAC rules. Can you be more clear? Like if I fill in this order : Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Thiruvanantpuram . Of course, chances are extremely good that you may get the center of your choice in 2nd or 3rd round, but that's a gamble to play. You decide if you're sure about that.
About getting Bangalore, yes, it probably looks like you'll get as there are 90 seats in DESD. However, make sure you understand the CDAC rules. Once you've been allotted any center, you can attend other rounds. So don't fill in the center where you don't want to go.
As a raw estimate, people having 1-300 rank will get in Pune, Hyderabad or Bangalore.

To be frank, I gathered all info regarding C-DAC centres quality over such forums only. So, Iam unsure about the same and hence asking people like you. Like everyone I want top and best Center. Location is not a constraint. I got to know that Pune/Hyderabad are best centres but Iam not sure of Bangalore and Thiruvanantpuram. I want to know clearly before choice filling. People with rank upto 250-300 will surely get top centre and they need not bother about other centres much. But people like me with marginal ranks need to open more choices as well, that's why Iam enquiring more. Can you please help me out??[Prototype]Yes, you're correct. I would say you try ACTS Pune as the first choice, Hyderabad as second choice. Those two are sure to be good and there's good chance you may get in there. Be clear about your goals. VLSI & ES don't share concepts, I don't know how they are even clubbed together in DIVESD. However, what I noticed in that course is, despite the course contents is almost same as VlSI & ES separately, the time allotment to the topics has been greatly reduced. This gave me an impression that it may happen like in an attempt to do both the things at once, you'll end up doing none of them properly. So my personal preference is not towards DIVESD.sksaxenaOk thanks alot for suggesting. I even got 156 for DIVESD and 181 for VLSI. Do you think I should go for these courses as well or DESD would be fine?

Regarding DIVESD, I was confused on grounds that although it is a club of ES and VLSI, still having lowest placement % of all?I don't know why it is so. So, I ignored it on placement basis, although I might get a seat in Noida(only CDAC offering DIVESD) or Sunbeam Pune. I'm still confused with DIVESD because I found 2 persons of DIVESD(July 2011 batch) doing job in LSI and Ericsson, which is too good.[Prototype]Be clear about your goals. However, please look the course modules & only take up the course which you feel would interest you. VLSI have got very less seats hence, it would be very difficult to get a seat in VLSI, but despite, if VLSI interests you, you should as well keep it in your preference list.
As far a placement point of view is concerned, ES is more placement oriented in India than VLSI.

Well, now coming to the rank, I regret to say that getting Pune/Bangalore for DAC seems to be a distant dream. Though, its not totally impossible. If you wait till 3rd round, there are good chances you may be get inside.
However you've a good chance at Noida. However, make sure you don't fill Noida as first choice. Always make the first few choices as your dream institutes. Your rank qualifies enough for miracle to be happened in later rounds.

Sorry to inform you Sachin, you will definitely NOT get Pune/Bangalore for DAC as they are top cntres. Noida is also a distant dream at 1300 rank. Iam not sure about Mumbai. Reason is total of DAC seats at CDAC centres is 650. There's high probability that you can get either Pune or Hyderabad.
Pune seats: 120
Hyderabad: 60
So total seats are 180 and your rank is 198. Disappointed? Forgot there are other courses as well, with main competitor course as VLSI. So you've a scope. There are more chances you'll get Pune as Hyderabad is also one of the fast consumed up centre & it got less seats.

Pune is certainly one of the best. Pune & Hyderabad are somewhat having same standards in DESD, so yeah, Pune is not at all bad. Bangalore is also great, but would be ranked below those two.shreekanthoooo......so do u think that pune ACTS is much better than Hyd and B'lore for DESD. and am i made any mistake by not choosing Pune center....

No No...Chennai is not good for placements...but CDAC Thiruvanantpuram is very reputed and old centre. They have research facility located there apart from DESD course. Moreover, it is the only center offering just 1 course with 40 seats. So, it should not be bad. But as Iam from north, I don't have any idea about it's placements and this is only confusing me....VKDINARHi i too confused over south heard that Chennai and Thiruvananthapuaram are same.....
