I do not see any reason the career gap will affect your career. You already are working as an IT recruiter and you'll have to leverage that to support your application to the post of HR recruiter. The reasons for the break are very valid and that should not affect a single bit.

I know there are a lot of people out there worrying about their career paths. Everybody wants to have perfect records on their resume and wants to have as much experience as needed for the job. But I the case of the aut ophor, I don’t think the gap matters that much. I guess what you have to do is make sure you show your new employer what you really can and let him appreciate you for your skills.
