Injections terrify a lot of people and they always prefer a needle free vaccination. But researchers have now developed a method of vaccination which does not involve injections.

It was already proved that vaccines which exclude the use of injections are an effective way of fighting against diseases. A team at King's College, London, which is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation were able to create a micro-needle array using dried sugar. The micro-needle array is a tiny disc which penetrates the skin. A HIV vaccine was proposed on the dried sugar, which dissolved after being inserted into the skin and got effectively delivered. But this method isn't as effective as the one done with an injection.

The micro-needle array preserves efficiently which is a benefit since some liquid vaccines need to be stored at extremely low temperatures. Here the vaccine is kept dry which remains stable at room temperature for those liquids which are stable only at minus 80 degree Celsius.

This method took years of research across the globe and it could lower the cost of manufacturing and transportation of vaccinations. Also the risk of transmitting diseases through needles and syringes would be lowered. The team is positive about using this method to vaccinate against HIV, malaria and tuberculosis in the years to come.
