Barnes and Noble Cut Prices Of Nook Before Launch!

Analysts and the tech #-Link-Snipped-# are buzzing with the fact that Barnes & Noble Inc will launch an improved, and cheaper versions of its Nook devices on Monday. The biggest U.S. bookstore chain's Nook has been a rage from the time of its launch in 2009. But the retailer is bothered due to Amazon.com Inc, which recently lauched the #-Link-Snipped-# to compete the tablet-like Nook Color and cut down the price on its basic Kindle. Technology blog Engadget stated in a post that Barnes & Noble would bring out its first tablet for $249 during their launch in New York. Referring to the leaded presentation slides, it is believed that Barnes & Noble will reduce the price of their e-reader to $99, same as that of Kindle Touch.

A Barnes & Noble spokesperson refused to comment. Analysts believe that whatever the company delivers on Monday, Barnes & Noble would be required to exhibit a totally new product or if nothing else a meaningful upgrade with solid new features to keep Barnes & Noble in the competition, warrant some higher prices and to gain customers. Barnes & Noble has confronted many years of decreasing book sales, that is why it has invested tens of millions of dollars to modernize the Nook to re-establish itself as readers shift to digital formats. It asserts to have nearly one-fourth of the digital books market. Regardless of having humble financial means as compared to Amazon, Nook Color claimed the market an year before Kindle Fire, and its touchscreen reader was launched months before Amazon released theirs.
