Bajaj To Launch "Nano Competitor" At The Delhi Auto Expo 2012

3rd January 2012 would definitely be one of the most important dates for Bajaj Automobiles. Besides launching the most awaited KTM Duke 200, Bajaj will launch its ultra low price small car at the #-Link-Snipped-# to be held in the Pragati Maidan. This car will may prove to be a competition to Tata Nano. The model of this car had been put forth long back in 2008, and this is now finally ready to run on Indian roads.

This model will have an extra-ordinary fuel efficiency of 30 Kilometer per Litre with a petrol engine of 800 cc and hence the price of the model will be a little higher than Tata Nano which gives an average of 25 Kilometer per Litre. Though it is believed that the price mark would not make much difference. This car would be promoted under the Renault brand as per the agreement signed between the two companies. Bajaj is playing the role of the manufacturer and developer and the marketing and promotion is to be done by Nissan-Renault. It is worth noting that there are rumors flying around that the whole project has been developed by the Bajaj alone without any joint venture.

This commercial vehicle will commence with its sale right after the Auto Expo, where the price of the model and other details would be revealed. If the price of the model is not very high, it is expected that it would definitely cut down the sales of Tata Nano. The customers have to wait for the announcement of the details of the ULC car to give their response and indicate whether Bajaj's ULC has the ability to leave behind Tata Nano in the race. We already covered the news that the visitors will get a #-Link-Snipped-# at the Delhi Auto Expo. Let us look forward to more revelations prior to the event. We will keep you updated.
