ABSTRACT

In this project we are going to control a agricultural motor with the help of PIC16f877A microcontroller and GSM. Nowadays due to un regular power cuts it is difficult for the farmers to do agriculture. They want to stay at the motor room for turn on the motor when the power came. And the farmer cannot go far due these problems. These problems can be overcome by our project. To overcome this we are going to use the various components like PIC16f877 microcontroller, GSM device, driver IC, power supply, etc. In the field of agriculture, use of proper method of irrigation is important and it is well known that irrigation by drip is very economical and efficient. In the conventional drip irrigation system, the farmer has to keep watch on irrigation timetable, which is different for different crops. The purpose of this paper is to provide more facility in agriculture field by using ZIGBEE. Paper describes an application of a wireless sensor network for low-cost wireless controlled and monitored irrigation solution. The developed irrigation method removes the need for workmanship for flooding irrigation. Efficient water management plays an important role in the irrigated agricultural cropping systems.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : To provide innovations in the agriculture and also to help the farmers .In this project we are going to control a agricultural motor with the help of PIC16f877 microcontroller and GSM.Nowadays due to un regular power cuts it is difficult for the farmers to do agriculture. They want to stay at the motor room for turn on the motor when the power came. And the farmer cannot go far due these problems. These problems can be overcome by our project.Also to provide the automatic irrigation system by using humidity and moisture sensors to regulate the sufficient water to the crops.we can also get the updates from the GSM controller from the control room in order to get the status of the water flow to the specified crops.To minimize the farmer issues due to the power and indirect interrupts. Thus we can monitor and control the motor from the remote place via GSM Module. ZIGBEE system is efficient for water management in the irrigated agricultural cropping systems. The system is based on soil condition identification and consists of ZIGBEE module for communication purpose.
