At $153 Billion Valuation, Apple Is World's Most Valuable Consumer Brand

Steve Jobs must be happy today. Apple's just snatched the crown of being the most valuable consumer brand from Google at $153 billion. Over the last 4 years Google maintained the lead, but with the inception of new and improved gadgets like iPad 2 and iPhone 4, Apple has gained lot of consumer goodwill and confidence pushing the brand Apple to the global #1 in the list of HSBC, Disney, Coca-Cola, IBM and BMW. The tech sector saw tremendous growth over the last few years and the global top 100 brands comprises of many technology companies.


Facebook is rapidly growing in the list at the rate of 246% and experts believe that it has the potential to gain the top positing in coming years. Facebook's brand valuation currently stands at $19.1 billion. Amazon - the online eCommerce portal has became the world's most valuable retailer at $37.6 billion valuation. The third spot is claimed by the International Business Machines group (IBM) at $100 billion followed by Microsoft at #5. The General Electric Company gained 12% and currently stands at #10 position.
