    A dc to dc convertor is chopper and DC choppers are used to change the voltage levels.
    Such a system would be used in HVDC stations and in inverters.

    These Are Used In Maximum Power Point Tracking Of Solar Energy. By Using dc-dc Boost Converter, we Increase Operating Voltage Of Solar Array. And By Using The dc-dc Buck Converter, We Increase The Operating Current Of Solar Array.
    Since Generating Energy By Using PV Cells Is A Low Power Application, Therefore we Use MPPT Using dc-dc Converter. It Is One Of The Major Application

    DC to DC are used in may boost and buck operation in low power applications like SMPS where your getting pure DC but it was first higher value of 12 volts with some mili currents and it will be changes to 5 volts some lesser currents. like lots of applications are constructed.
